Definition of La Liga
La Liga, officially known as "La Liga" (LaLiga EA Sports), is the top-flight football league in Spain and is considered one of the strongest and most popular football leagues in the world. It is organized by the Royal Spanish Football Federation and administered by the Liga de Fútbol Profesional (LaLiga).
League History
La Liga was founded in 1929 with only 10 clubs, and Barcelona was the first team to top the league in the first season. Since then, the league has grown to include 20 teams competing annually for the title.

Each team plays 38 matches per season (home and away against each other).
A team receives 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss.
The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned champion.
The bottom three teams in the standings are relegated to LaLiga Hypermotion, while three teams from the second division are promoted in their place.
European Qualifications
The top four teams in the standings qualify for the Champions League.
The fifth-placed team qualifies for the Europa League, and the sixth-placed team qualifies for the Europa Conference League (also based on Copa del Rey results).
